Tips On What to Pack for Your Study

As a former international student who studied in the UK myself, I understand how annoying it can be to pack for your new adventure! You must want to bring everything to your new home abroad. And trust me, you don’t want to overpack only to find out some items are actually not necessary after your arrival. Always remember to bring the bare minimum so you can have a light and easy-to-carry luggage which will make your whole journey easier. Still have no clue on what to pack? Check out my tips below:

  1. Clothes

Clothes and shoes usually take up the most space of your luggage. So, don’t bring too many of them. You will most likely buy new ones after you’ve settled down. Bring as few as you can depending on your style, such as a few shirts, light sweaters, 1 or 2 jacket and a coat. Some basic must-have clothing items and shoes, and buy the rest later. There are many choices here in London and you might even find items that are cheaper here than back home.

  1. Food

London is one of the most multicultural cities in the world and it welcomes people from all over the world. So as you can imagine, the choice of food is extremely varied. You will always find your best cheap eats! If you are worried you are not familiar with the local supermarkets or restaurants as a new student, you can always bring some commonly used condiments from your country, and cook your own meal. After you familiarize yourself with the environment, I am sure you can easily tell where to buy what. You can also get takeaway if you don’t want to cook. This can get expensive very quickly, so make sure you keep a good balance between cooking and ordering/ eating out.

  1. Toiletries

We all heard of the unlucky ones whose luggage missed the flight. Make sure you pack some essential toiletries in your carry-on, such as a toothbrush, a travel-size toothpaste, facewash, shampoo & bodywash. Everything else can be bought here so don’t pack too many toiletries in your checked-in luggage either.

  1. Bedding and Kitchen things

Packing the bedding and kitchen utensils is always a headache as they are too big and will take up most of the space in your luggage. Well, this is where GoBritanya can jump in and help! We got you covered with our bedding and kitchen packs. If you wish to book them through us, click here for more info. They will then be placed in your room before your arrival. Problem solved!
